What does it feel like to put trust in yourself?

I follow an account on Instagram called, Prison Yoga Project, where yoga teachers go into prisons to teach inmates.

One of the teachers posted this week about their theme. It read,

“You are the expert of your own experience and your own body. What does it feel like to put trust in yourself?”

I loved this theme and question so much that I decided I would make it my week’s theme and to share it with all of you.

When I take a moment and think about being the expert of my own experience it helps me to tune out the noise, to quiet the comparison, and to listen to my gut.

This time of year is busy and it can be easy to compare our holiday plans with others. When we do that, we only take into account small bits of their lives and things often appear different than reality.

When we focus on owning our experience, listening to our bodies, and trusting ourselves, it can help us feel more in balance at this often unbalanced time of year.
