Meditation and Stillness

Finding time to meditate is tough. Especially during this busy season.

This last week we had some sick kiddos and I had an ear infection so we had to miss out on Thanksgiving festivities. As I dealt with the annoying ear pain, I found myself stopping and doing quick 5 minute meditations on pain. It reminded me how grateful I am for my mediation practice.

Before I learned more about meditaion, I thought it looked like sitting on a pillow in stillness for long amoutns of time. And while that is one kind of practice, what has benefitted me greatly is quick, guided meditations that fit around my schedule or that help with a specific need. I use the meditation studio app but I know there are many different ones out there like calm and headspace.

As we practice this week, we’ll look at how meditation and stillness can benefit us, both our bodies and our mind.

Affirmation for the week:

Be still.

I hope you’ll find pockets of quiet in your week where you can just be still.
